At CEA Global Education, it is our goal to help create and facilitate opportunities for personal and professional growth and global understanding for students. According to national survey data, interest in faculty-led and group study abroad programs has increased dramatically in the past decade. Students are increasingly seeking opportunities to study abroad with faculty or groups organized by their home institution.
We understand the tremendous work involved in setting up and operating a successful academic program abroad and we can help. CEA has knowledgeable staff and strong professional international infrastructure specialized in helping universities and faculty develop these customized programs. We offer a wide range of custom program study abroad options, including opportunities for faculty-directed and university group arrangements that can be fully customized to meet your academic and programmatic needs.
Academics
Academic programming may be offered through the home institution or CEAGlobal Education. Using CEA Academics can help lower program costs and increase the amount of credits available to students. CEA also is available to provide curricular support – including suggestions for guest speakers, site visits, tours, lectures, etc. – with sufficient information from the faculty regarding the desired course. (Past syllabi are most useful even if the course was not taught abroad.)
Orientation
Students will receive an orientation to the campus and city, including the following overviews:
- CEA Global Education policies (academic if applicable, code of conduct, housing, etc.)
- Health and safety
- Insurance
- Emergency contacts
- Basic “survival” workshop (language, transportation tips, maps, information centers, etc.)
Housing
CEA Global Education will arrange for housing for both students (apartments, residence halls) and faculty (1 bedroom), if needed.
Social & Cultural Immersion Activities
CEA Global Education arranges for various activities (typically one per week) for students to learn about the host culture either through local events, traditions and activities or interacting with locals, eating local cuisine and exploring important sites within the city, etc. This also provides students with an opportunity to interact with other CEA students, have fun, make friends, and experience the city from a new perspective.
Insurance
CEA Global Education provides comprehensive, international medical insurance for all students, which is required. Faculty may also choose to enroll in HTH insurance, if desired, at an additional cost.
Additional program inclusions are available upon request, including excursions, airport pick-up/drop-off, workshops, language exchanges, customized courses, etc.
