CEA Global Education provides college study abroad programs to American students in 14 countries and 24 cities across the globe.
The transfer and application of academic credit is ultimately decided by students’ home academic institution. To assist in this process, we provide detailed course descriptions, contact hours, syllabi and recommended credits for individual courses. CEA Site Specialists are available to help questions regarding credit transfer. CEA Global Education has worked with more than 1,000 colleges and universities across North America to successfully translate and transfer credit for coursework completed in our programs.
You can help make this process a smooth one for students seeking a study abroad experience. Review course descriptions submitted by students before their program start date and consider giving written pre-approval for high grades earned abroad. Be on the lookout for official transcripts released by either the Global Partner or University of New Haven – CEA's University of Record – about 90 days after program completion.
CEA Global Education bases the number of recommended credits for each course on a conversion of 15 classroom/contact hours per semester credit. So a semester program with 180-225 contact hours should be considered worth 12-15 credits.
