CEA Global Education has created a comprehensive, industry-accepted network of best safety practices to ensure your students’ safety and well-being while enjoying their cultural immersion experience. CEA is proud of its reputation as a student-first study abroad organization, and we carry that level of focus and expectation to heart. Our international staff are well-versed in our global CEA Emergency Plan and are in constant communication with our staff at our U.S. headquarters in Tempe, Arizona.
Steps that CEA Global Education takes includes:
For students:
- Airport pickup when they first arrive at their destination
- An intensive on-site orientation, which includes safety tips specific to their city
- Assistance with student registration with the local US embassy or consulate
- A support of dedicated and qualified international personnel who have been trained in emergency procedures and have practiced scenarios for various situations.
- Access to 24-hour staff contact information which is always staffed should issues arise
- International faculty and staff’s familiarization with the global CEA Emergency Plan that is generated and reviewed by the CEA Health and Safety Committee
- CEA International staff contact roster for all students while they are on site with CEA
For Parents/guardians:
- Online support tips for parents
- Toll-free access (800-266-4441) to the 24-hour emergency phone line, which is monitored by staff at the Global Headquarters in Tempe, Arizona
- Timely updates as to CEA Global Education’s monitoring of world situations
For schools:
- Timely notification to your primary contact from your Regional Consultant or other CEA University Relations contact of any severe student issue that involves one or more of your students overseas
- Risk management for Custom and Faculty-Led programming
- A transparent Emergency Plan and an accessible Health & Safety Committee comprised of members of the CEA Executive Management Team.
