Simplifying the Cost of Study Abroad
Broadening students' horizons through cultural experiences comes with a price tag. But at CEA Global Education, we believe the kind of personal growth that takes place in study abroad enhances students’ college skills, including problem-solving, independence and critical thinking. Consequently we approach funding study abroad as an extension of financing a valuable college education.
Available Billing Alternatives
To ease the administrative burden on universities and colleges, CEA Global Education offers two billing options – each with its own advantages depending on your needs and resources.
- Individual Student Billing - CEA Global Education manages the payment process for you, eliminating the hassle of collecting and processing payments, charging student accounts and tracking down students to ensure payment. Charges, deadlines and payments are handled through their MyCEA Account.
This convenient, online billing process eliminates the administrative requirements associated with your study abroad experience and also can be used to process students’ financial aid.
- Direct Billing - CEA Global Education also offers the opportunity for you to bill your students directly and pay all or part of the program fees for your students. The advantages to this option are threefold. Many students and families find it easier and simpler to work with a single billing party during their entire college program. With Direct Billing, you provide a link between the student and CEA, providing one consistent billing entity.
When processing financial aid, disbursements go immediately to CEA Global Education rather than to students, saving time and administrative effort. In some cases, Direct Billing is the only way for students to secure institutional scholarships for studying abroad. Also, Direct Billing offers accountability, making internal, institutional contact obligatory for students, which assures application of financial aid and proper transfer of academic credits.
Student Funding Sources
There are a number of funding sources available to students electing to study abroad with CEA Global Education:
- Financial Aid - As CEA Global Education is not a Title IV institution, all Federal and Government Aid must be processed through your institution. CEA has our own Consortium Agreement or is willing to sign your version of a similar document in order to assist your students in utilizing funds for their study abroad experience.
- Grants - Students of CEA Academic Affiliates have access to travel grants for their school’s programs as a function of that term. For non-affiliate schools, CEA sometimes provides a limited number of grants for specific programs, destinations and terms.
- Scholarships - Scholarships are available to qualifying, accepted CEA students who attend an affiliate school. Scholarships may be given based on merit, need, discipline, diversity and more through an affiliate school.
