CEA offers the housing options listed below in the French Alps. Every attempt will be made to match each student's preferences with our housing options; however, housing preferences cannot be guaranteed as roommate and housing assignments are based upon availability, date of confirmation, and other factors. We encourage you to apply early as it will assist us in organizing your housing arrangements.

Apartment - Standard
The CEA Grenoble program offers responsible, mature and independent students the opportunity to share an apartment with other CEA students. Apartments are located throughout the city in residential neighborhoods, and are anywhere from a 10 to 25 minute tram ride from either the university of Grenoble or the Grenoble Ecole de Management (GEM). The apartments in Grenoble have been carefully selected for their location and quality. If you like the idea of sharing your living space with other students, then the independence of an apartment may be the perfect option. Though there is no meal plan for apartment living; students are encouraged to try new recipes and to practice their cooking skills while in France. Students participating in the GEM Summer Programs will share a furnished apartment located near the school (5 minutes on foot) or in the center of Grenoble (a 15 minute walk or 5 minute tram ride). A meal plan for the GEM summer programs includes a continental breakfast five days a week.
Homestay - Upgrade
If you are outgoing, independent and not afraid to take the language plunge, then living in a homestay while in Grenoble could be a wonderful opportunity to immerse yourself into the French culture and language. Our homestays have been interviewed and screened, and most have hosted students for years. Breakfast is provided daily as well as five additional meals per week. CEA homestays are located throughout Grenoble and are anywhere from a 20-30 minute bus or tram ride from the University of Grenoble, Stendhal 3 or the Grenoble Ecole de Management. Please note, Grenoble has a large student population and from time to time homestays are difficult to secure. Requests for a homestay should be made many months in advance.
Residence Hall - Upgrade
The Residence Houille Blanche, used by CEA during the academic year, is located near the University of Grenoble campus and is typically no more than a 15 minute tram or bus ride from class, and a 10 minute ride to the nearest supermarket. The summer residence hall, The Foyer de L’Etudiante, is located in the heart of the city in a bustling neighborhood, near the CEA office and several local markets. A two minute walk gets you to the direct tram line to the campus, which is less than 15 minutes away. The same tram will get you to the business school in 15 minutes. Students will have a limited meal plan with this option; however, large common kitchens and dining areas are available for cooking. These are great places for those interested in interacting with other students. If you like having your own private space, yet sharing with other international students, then this may be your ideal housing choice.

Independent Living
CEA highly recommends that students live in the housing provided. Requests for permission to arrange independent housing must be made on the online housing or paper application form as determined by your program no later than the application closure date. For academic year students, requests for permission to arrange independent living arrangements for the second semester must be made no later than the second semester's application closure date. Students whose requests are approved will receive a rebate for housing. CEA resident directors will not provide assistance with independent housing and will not speak or act on behalf of any student who chooses to pursue such arrangements. Rebates are not granted for students who move out of their CEA housing or choose to pursue independent living arrangements after the application closure date.
